I don't really have anything to blog about, but I'm sick of seeing that sad picture of Myler at Christmas whenever my blog pops up. So here is a much better one. We are mostly feeling better around here, but we still have our moments. This is my really busy time at work, so Clyde and Myler are home alone a lot and I'm at meetings all the time. Myler is busy walking (up to 4-5 steps at a time) and jabbering and Clyde actually read a book...and not just any book, but an 800 page book (The Undaunted)...and in less than a week. This is a miracle...I think it might be only the second book he's read since I've known him (the other one was a running book), so it must be pretty good. Plus it's about England and southern Utah and has the Behunin's in it. I'll get to it soon. It was so amazing I took a picture...
My friend Cassie brought over a book called "hush, hush" so I read it. It's not very well-written, but I still read it in two sittings. It was weird, but I'll probably read the next one Becca Fitzpatrick writes and see if she gets any better. When I finally make it home at night, I mostly wind down with some tv...right now I record The Bachelor, How I Met Your Mother, American Idol, Biggest Loser, Grey's Anatomy, and The Practice. I am usually a few days behind on watching them, but it gives me a way to relax and not think. But everyday Clyde and I check in with our boys Tony and Wilbon for a little PTI. They absolutely crack me up.
Anything else good that I'm missing? (Don't tell me, I don't have time for any more shows.)

Not Very Merry
This picture sums up Myler's first Christmas. Christmas this year didn't turn out so great. Tuesday night Myler (out of nowhere) started throwing up. Clyde and I were up all night with him and then after fighting it all day, I joined in Wednesday night. Clyde was up with Myler all night while I was up with myself. Thursday morning Clyde joined the fun. While Thursday (Christmas Eve) was the worst of it, none of us were feeling much better on Christmas day. It was awful. This was as far as Myler got Christmas morning.
Unfortunately, over a week later, Myler still isn't himself. We finally decided to give him some formula again last night (he's been on Pedialyte this whole time) and he refused to drink it. That's sad considering on the second day of no milk he was signing "milk" (which we always do to him but he had never done before). I want this little boy back!

out as long as he was in
Myler is 9 months old! Which means people can't give me the "it took you 9 months to put on the weight, give it 9 months to get it off" crap. Darn.
Here are the 9 month stats:
Weight: 21.69 lbs (70 percentile)
Length: 28.75 in (69 percentile)
Head Circum: 18.7 in (96 percentile) it just keeps getting bigger. doc says it needs lots of room to grow a big, smart brain.
Myler is still in to turbo-crawling, standing up against anything, walking around holding on to stuff, bottles on his own, teething (bottom two in, three on top breakin through as we speak), jabberin, and killin us with his cute smile. He is a really good baby. He is also into weird sleeping positions...and we are pretty sure he thinks he is a dog.
He "barks" when the dogs do and plays with them all the time. They growl and snap at him, but always nicely...they never do anything that could hurt him, even when he has a handful of ear!
Speaking of the dogs, they haven't gotten much love on the blog lately. Izzy thinks she is so pretty (here she is posing under the tree), and Zoe is just all dog...frizzin out after a good rumblin.
What else is new? Hmmm...we had Thanksgiving at our house this year. It was nice to have both our families together. You can see we are all tuckered after eating too much.
And of course I was excited to see New Moon the day it opened with these lovely ladies. (And again with my sis and mom the next week. Go Team Jacob.)

Hunting
Trevor got an elk and after Myler saw the picture he decided he wanted to go hunting too. If Gramps can do it on crutches, can't he do it at 8 months old?

Heckuva Hike & Coolest Cake
Last Saturday Clyde and I got up at 4 am to hike the West Rim Trail in Zion from Lava Point (Kolob area) to the Grotto. After shuttling cars and making it to the trailhead in what seemed like the middle of nowhere, we started hiking at 7 am. It was 39 degrees and we were 15.5 miles away from the bottom. It soon lightened up and we had an amazing time hiking through some beautiful country. We only saw 6 other crazies, 5 of whom had camped out the night before halfway through, until we got closer to the Angels Landing trail.
Pictures just don't do it justice. The cliffs were SO steep and far down, the canyons were massive, and the views were endless. We just kept going down to entirely new levels. It was awesome.
It took us about 6 and a half hours, including all of our food/potty/picture breaks. Just over 5 hours of hiking. Clyde sprained his ankle 10.6 miles in, so that was fun for him. The trail meets up above Walters Wiggles with the Angels Landing trail. From there down was the worst part of the hike. Man, I thought I was going to lose some toenails! But we made it down and then ate all of the calories we had just burned at a sports grill in Springdale. I was definitely sore the next day, but it was awesome and we hope to get in to Zion more often for some hiking. Most of all it was nice just to spend some time together.
P.S. Clyde RAN this "hike" the Friday before with some friends and they did it in about 2 hours.I also wanted to give a shout out to all the October birthdays in my family. Susan, Kenny, me, Grandma, mom, and Ian all celebrated this month. It was my grandma Cleo's 80th, so we threw a big birthday bash that was just loads of fun. The coolest part of all was her cake though. It had little things about her all over it like a suitcase for traveling, all her hairdresser stuff, horseshoes, etc. and it was the coolest cake ever!

Nobody cares...
about the parents anymore when you have a kid. So what has Myler been up to you ask? Well...
playing with Grammy and Gramps...and Aunt Maren...and bonkin his head (over and over in the same spot)...
and chillin with Grandma and Grandpa Hacker...and celebrating Grandma Cleo's 80th bday with a rockin partay...
watchin daddy run (not race) the marathon and pace our neighbor to break 3 hours (they did it!)...and daddy thinkin it was a fun, easy run and should include crazy facial hair and mohawks since they were messin around anyway...

and doing a little running himself...
taking a mini-vaca in Moab (so daddy could bike and Grandpa could golf)...
going for a hike in Moab...but mostly just crawling around EVERYWHERE!

Life as we know it
Clyde informed me that I haven't posted in forever, so I guess it's time to update.
This little man is of course the focus of our lives. He just turned 6 months old and is cuter than ever. He has two bottom teeth and is rolling and scooting all over. The other day I found him halfway under the table (see pic below). He is up on all fours and rocking so the crawling is going to start any day! Ah! He is a happy guy and very vocal...especially at church :). He loves to eat his rice cereal or veggies/fruit.
6 month stats: 18.5 pounds (70%), 26.5 inches (55%), 17.9 in head (91%) Can you say hello Charlie Brown?
A couple weeks ago we headed to Salt Lake to meet up with the Meyer's from Clyde's mission. The last time he saw them (10 years ago) they looked like this.
Now the kids are all grown up and we went through the temple with Becky and to her sealing in the Salt Lake temple. It was awesome to see them! Jordan is now bigger than Clyde and Bond so they had to re-create some old pictures, which didn't turn out to be easy on the old guys! It was a fun weekend and I think we will be forever friends with the Meyer's, who are hilarious and way fun. Plus I heard lots of stories about Clyde and Liz promised me a DVD for blackmail :).
Clyde is still working away on the backyard. He got the trampoline and his "chunnel" in and is working on adding some bushes around. We also planted our fall garden and it's not looking too bad! Hopefully we will get something from it! Since I can't lose the baby fat (seriously, it is ridiculous!) I started my first ever (in my life) diet. It sucks! I'm on The Zone diet and going to Crossfit with my sister, who rocks it. I try to get in a run or walk every day too. Hopefully these last blasted 15 pounds will someday go away.
I often catch these two in the shower or bath when I get back from my morning run or workout. It's too cute.
Finally, today was Jessey's 22nd birthday. I made a yummy lunch and cake (that I couldn't eat) to celebrate. Happy birthday Jess!

Jumpin
Myler is getting so big! He is 5 months now and rolling around like crazy. He got his first little tooth, which I think is the cutest thing in the whole world, and he jabbers and screams in joy with the best of them. He has especially developed a great love for his "johnny jumper" just like his daddy did. We love this little man!
